The first thing you notice about Tanner is his unusual color. He's buckskin with an extra creme gene, 2 instead of one. It's the extra creme gene that has faded his coat color to white and given him blue eyes. This unique combination of color genes means he will ALWAYS pass a creme gene to his foals. He can only produce buckskin, palomino and smoky black foals, when bred to bay, chestnut, black or sorrel mares. Tanner will never produce a sorrel, chestnut or bay baby. He can only produce a "white" foal (cremello, perlino or smoky black). when bred to mares that also carry a creme gene.
Tanner is more than just color genetics. He's an exceptional individual. He has demonstrated the old working abilities of the original Fox Trotting horses. Tanner will start his show career this summer competing in the working cow horse, reining, trail and pleasure divisions.
